Guinea is a growing source of non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates for China. Australia and Brazil remain important suppliers; a rise in Guinea's share does not by itself show that it displaced another origin.

The Simandou iron ore project began sending material to China in 2026. Customs product and origin records do not identify the mine, so they cannot attribute all imports from Guinea to that project.
