Compare the official product types and maximum take-off weight bands. Aircraft weight bands describe classification, not shipment weight.
Shares are unavailable because the child observations are incomplete or do not reconcile with the heading in this month. Missing observations are not zero.
The heading is shown separately from its children; never add both into one export total. Customs destinations may be distribution centres rather than final buyers.

The snapshot refreshes after a promoted release and site rebuild. The dated analysis below remains tied to its stated source period. USD values do not establish physical quantities or AI end use. Country series use complete, checksum-verified partner partitions reconciled to global USD totals. Missing partner rows remain unavailable; recorded zeroes remain zero. Partner previews state their own month; an omitted partner is not zero.
China's drone exports cover several aircraft types and maximum take-off weight bands. The current panel tracks the published HS8806 unmanned aircraft heading in customs USD, then shows its official child products and leading reported destinations. Monthly charts and the downloadable CSV refresh with the website's published trade release.
Read monthly growth alongside the cumulative trend
In the site's published release 2026-10-10T111606Z, August 2026 HS8806 exports were USD 159,746,505, down 48.2% year on year and 45.8% from July. January–August exports were USD 2,087,283,354, up 13.8% against the same eight months of 2025.
The latest month therefore moved in the opposite direction to cumulative growth. A positive year-to-date figure can retain the effect of earlier strong months while the newest observation weakens. Compare the latest month, its prior-year baseline and the complete cumulative window together; one weaker month does not establish a lasting decline.
These figures are the website's published heading observations. They are not substituted with another report's national drone total, aircraft count or growth rate. The chart preserves missing observations as gaps, and cumulative growth requires every January-to-reference-month observation in both years.
Product types and weight bands can move differently
The classification distinguishes passenger-carrying aircraft, remote-controlled aircraft and other unmanned aircraft. Its weight bands use maximum take-off weight, which describes the aircraft's classification rather than the weight of an exported shipment.
The August published HS880622 child value was USD 165,557,777, down 23.0% year on year. HS880624 was USD 12,467,406, up 30.9%. These independent observations illustrate different product trends, but the current release has an important reconciliation gap: HS880622 alone exceeds the published HS8806 heading total.
Consequently, the panel keeps the original heading and child values separate and withholds shares whenever all child observations cannot be reconciled to the heading. Two child products also have no August observation in this release; those entries remain unavailable rather than being inserted as zero. The discrepancy has been recorded for upstream review. Do not use a sum of the visible children as a replacement national export total.
Open the unmanned aircraft product heading and the linked child pages to examine their individual histories. The CSV contains the heading and separate child series with their HS levels, flow, month and release identity. Parent and child rows must not be added together.
Destinations measure reported trade routes
For the heading's August observation, Hong Kong received USD 40,675,143, Germany USD 30,755,627, and the UAE USD 18,488,821. Their shares of the published heading were 25.5%, 19.3% and 11.6%, respectively.
The destination table uses each product's latest reported month, rather than an all-history partner ranking. It is a top-five preview, not a complete country-by-month dataset. Hong Kong and other trading centres may serve distribution routes; a customs destination does not identify the final operator, buyer or use of an aircraft. A partner omitted from the preview is not evidence of zero exports.
When is value per aircraft meaningful?
The heading's physical quantity is unsupported in the current release. Some national HS8 products publish native quantities, but a heading-wide USD-per-aircraft calculation needs complete comparable coverage, a verified aircraft-count unit and a value numerator covering exactly the same partners.
The panel therefore does not divide the heading value by a separately reported aircraft count. Even a valid customs unit value can change with the mix of small consumer aircraft and larger industrial systems; it is not a same-model selling price. Trade values also do not separate civilian applications from other end uses or establish why exports changed.
For wider research, explore the Advanced Manufacturing hub, the aircraft trade category, and China Trade data packages. Request a consistent product-country-month extract when the question needs physical units or complete destination coverage.
